The committee is made up of a dedicated team of people who have their members best interests at heart. 90% of the committee have been involved with SABA for more than 5 years, so this will give you an indication of the passion that they share in our association and the dedication they give to our members. Most of the committee members own buckskins themselves and are quite keen to present them in the show ring. Along with showing, many of them have breeding programs in place to continue the love that they share with their horses and ponies. SABA hosts upto 3 shows per year which all have high point rings applicable to the SA Buckskin Association. Our Invitational show is held October, The Northern Hack and Halter Show is in December, and The Summer Show is held in February. All of these shows are held at the beautiful grounds at Mt. Pleasant. We also get invited to other shows held by various other associations and societies with the total number usually from 8 - 9 shows per season where most if not all of these are high point rings. At the end of the financial year, all our member are invited to come to our AGM & High Point presentation lunch. It also gives the members who do not show, an opportunity to catch up with the committee members outside of the show arena/venue. Shows held every third Sunday in the month during the show season at Northern Equestrian Centre Penfield or Mallala Equestrian Centre.
Spectator entry is free. Canteen available. New members always welcome. We also conduct training days and trail rides and social activities in addition to the normal shows.

- (Formerly the Mid North Hack & Hunter Group Inc). Affiliated with the Show Horse Council of Australasia. Now with New committee as of March 2006. We are an association that is dedicated to the showing of hacks and show hunters in SA. The SHC-SA conducts several shows throughout the season for competitors to gain qualification towards the Royal Adelaide Show and for entry to our annual Grand National Qualifying Show "Hygain Masters - SA Horse of the Year". We also encourage young and upcoming riders who are looking to progress into the show ring by running several shows with an encourage ring.
To compete at our shows owners and riders must be members of the Association. Membership is for financial year from July - June. Special deals for early bird membership - 10% discount and entry into a draw to win Champion Tails Product Basket. First show of the season for 2006 is April (see the Calender section for details). STANDARDBRED PLEASURE AND PERFORMANCE HORSE ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA INC.
Promotes Standardbreds as pets, harness and riding horses. We have our own Shows and Events (including State Championships), run retraining days, social days and have end of year High Point Awards. We try to encourage that the Standardbred can be as capable as any other breed in all disciplines. Members receive a Bi-Monthly newsletter with programs, results, advice, calendars and more.
The committee meets monthly. You must be a member of S.P.P.H.A.S.A. to compete at most Breed-Shows and the Adelaide Royal Show.
