Establish 1977. We register all shades of Buckskin, Duns, & Grulla's. The committee is made up of a dedicated team of people who have their members best interests at heart. 90% of the committee have been involved with SABA for more than 5 years, so this will give you an indication of the passion that they share in our association and the dedication they give to our members. Most of the committee members own buckskins themselves and are quite keen to present them in the show ring. Along with showing, many of them have breeding programs in place to continue the love that they share with their horses and ponies.
SABA hosts upto 3 shows per year which all have high point rings applicable to the SA Buckskin Association. Our Invitational show is held October, The Northern Hack and Halter Show is in December, and The Summer Show is held in February. All of these shows are held at the beautiful grounds at Mt. Pleasant. We also get invited to other shows held by various other associations and societies with the total number usually from 8 - 9 shows per season where most if not all of these are high point rings. At the end of the financial year, all our member are invited to come to our AGM & High Point presentation lunch. It also gives the members who do not show, an opportunity to catch up with the committee members outside of the show arena/venue.

The AFWHS Inc was formed in 1998 and keeps a register of Partbred Friesian horses, promotes and sponsors classes at shows and holds annual Hi-point awards. Members are sent a newsletter several times a year.
A Friesian Warmblood is a horse that is at least 25% Friesian. They are bred for their even temperament, strength, stamina, and versatility. The Friesian gives great beauty, lovely movement, fantastic conformation, a friendly, quiet temperament and a "look at me" quality when crossed with other breeds.
The versatile Friesian Warmblood comes in a variety of types so there is a horse to suit everyone. Because of the different breeding combinations, their exterior appearance can vary from a finer type to a more solid type. They can vary in height.

Guidelines for registration in The Heavy Horse Association
• To register your heavy horse in the main stud book your horse must have ¼ of proven heavy horse breeding registration and will be registered in sections of Light, Medium and Heavy horses.
• To register your horse in the classified 'Heavy Horse' section of unknown breeding, you must submit your registration to the committee with proof of purchase. This registration will be registered in sections of Light Medium and Heavy based on heavy horse features as type.
• All Pure breed horses registered with their relevant breed society will be over stamped as foundation registered Pure heavy Horse.
• All Pure bred unregistered horses can be registered as a classified Heavy horse.
